Everything you need to know about Crowdify in two minutes.
What is Crowdify?
Crowdify is an event platform where events only happen if enough people commit. Organisers set a ticket goal. Attendees buy tickets — but cards are only pre-authorised, not charged. If the goal is reached by the deadline, every card is charged and the event goes ahead. If not, all pre-authorisation holds are released — no money moves. Zero risk on both sides.
Secured by Stripe
All payments processed by Stripe, trusted by millions of businesses worldwide.
Pre-authorised, not charged
Your card is pre-authorised (a temporary hold) when you buy a ticket. You’re only charged if the funding goal is hit.
Automatic hold release
If the goal isn't reached, the card hold is released automatically. No charge ever happens.

Buy a ticket
Your card is pre-authorised (a temporary hold). It’s only charged if the event reaches its funding goal.
Wait for the deadline
If enough people commit by the deadline, you're in. If not, you pay nothing.
Attend or hold released
Goal reached? Card charged, you're going. Goal missed? Card hold released — no charge, no action needed.
The deadline rule
Every crowdfunded event has a funding deadline. If the ticket goal is reached before the deadline, pre-authorised cards are charged and the event is confirmed. If not, every card hold is released automatically — no charge was ever made. Released holds typically clear from your statement within 3–5 business days. No action required.
Common questions
What happens if the event doesn’t reach its funding goal?
Because your card was only pre-authorised (a temporary hold), there’s no charge to refund. Stripe releases the hold automatically — any “pending” line typically clears from your statement within 3–5 business days, depending on your bank.
When am I actually charged?
Your card is pre-authorised when you buy a ticket — that’s a temporary hold, not a charge. You’re only charged once the event reaches its funding goal by the deadline. If the goal isn’t hit, the hold is released and no money moves.
Can I get a refund after the event is funded?
Funded events are non-refundable from Crowdify directly, but you can re-list your ticket on the platform for another attendee to buy.
How much does Crowdify cost for organisers?
Creating an event is free. Crowdify takes a 12% platform fee plus Stripe processing fees (1.75% + $0.30) only when your event is successfully funded.
Is my payment information safe?
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor. Crowdify never sees or stores your card details.
